Which exchange has the cheapest Bitcoin perpetual fees?
It changes with your trade size and by the minute, which is why the table above is a live ranking. On BTC the venues are close together because the books are deep, so the trading fee usually decides it — the venue in row one is cheapest all-in for the size you picked.
Why are BTC perpetual fees so similar across exchanges?
Because Bitcoin has the deepest, most heavily arbitraged order books in crypto. Spread and slippage — the costs that separate venues on thin alt-coins — stay tiny on BTC even at size, so the differences you see are mostly the fee itself.
Is a Bitcoin perpetual the same as a Bitcoin future?
Not quite. A perpetual swap has no expiry and tracks spot BTC through a funding payment exchanged between longs and shorts. A CME (or other dated) Bitcoin future expires and settles on a fixed date and has no funding. Everything measured here is the perpetual kind.
Does the ranking include funding on BTC perps?
No. Funding is an ongoing payment that changes over the life of a position, so it is a separate cost from the one-time execution cost this page measures. We rank the fee, spread and slippage of opening the position with a market order.
